WHO RACES 4-STROKE?
#2
GET LITTLER TIRES THAN 22" AND KEEP ON THE GAS NO MATTER WHAT. I HAD A FEAR OF DOUBLING THE JUMPS BUT YOU MIGHT NOT BUT IF YOU DO TRY YOUR BEST TO DOUBLE THEM CUZ I ONLY RACE WITH LIKE 7 OR 8 QUADS AND ONLY 2 OF THEM DOUBLE. THEY ALWAYS WON UNTIL I STARTED TO DOUBLE AND THEN I GOT UP THERE WITH THEM(THEY RIDE BANSHEE'S). YOU SHOULD ALSO GET GOOD RACING SHOCKS BUT YOU BETER BE WILLING TO PAY OUT THE A$$!!! GOOD LUCK!

This depends. Are the races there very popular? Is it just one open 4-stroke class? If it is, you might want to think about some motor work, assuming you'll be using the 250x. Around here, the AMA sanctioned races have 4 stroke A and B. Both classes are usually about 20 400ex's and 3 or 4 Warriors/300ex's. But I also race some non-sanctioned ones where they divided the classes 350cc and under; and 350cc and over. There was a lot more competition that way. In a situation where that comes in to play, just make sure you are in good physical shape to where you can haul a$$ and not be tired at the end of the race, and possibly some shocks, or at least a pipe. Hope I helped.

Just be sure and do like the guy above sai. If other riders are doubling jumps..you will have to do it also to beat them. where i have raced there is usually only about 7-8 quads racing 400ex, banshees, warrior's, and mine and another 300ex. Me and the other 300ex always win b/c we clear the 2 tabletops...step up/downs and 1 double. (the others are just too big for me with stock shocks! 45ft) when i get all of me engine mods finished i am gonna try out the AMA races

there are alot of good suggestions in the above comments, the best thing I could tell you to start out is to lose the 22" tires, buy some 18" holeshots , upgrade to a 14 tooth sprocket and definitley get a good exhaust system. You might want to think about possibly losing the airbox and using a pod filter directly on the carb. If you got that route, make sure you put an outerwear over the pod. Keep in mind...more air=more power. If that is a high speed track, devise a ram air system instead of you air flowing through the frame. That's all ...Good luck!
