i just put some 27" tires on my sportsman... they are only about 3/4 inch away from the tie rod end... it that too close????

 

Unless your wheel is warped it can get any closer than 3/4 of a inch. A miss is as good as a mile they say.

 

Mine are a bit closer than that, with over 1400 miles now and no ripped boots. I'd say you're fine

27 x 10 x 12 on the front and 27 x 12 x 12 on the rear......

 

w/ aftermarket rims or wheelspacers. your not using the stock rims are you?

no.. i got them as a kit from the dealer... they were on an 800 in the showroom and they sold them to me.... there were no spacers ..

 

i knew w/ that kind of clearance w/ 10" wide tires on front it had to be an differnt rim then stock. the stock tires dont even have that kind or clearance i dont beleave.
