Alright guys, not sure what is wrong here............I went to change the counterbalance oil on my Trailboss 350 4x4 a little while ago and I went to drain it and nothing came out, maybe a drip thats it. First of thats not a good sign. Then I went to take the drain plug off and fill it......i got maybe a 3 cap fulls in there and thats it. I put the oil in with out the drain plug in to flush out the counterblance but nothing came out. Yes, i did take the right plugs out, in fact I took the other two drain plugs out to make sure.

I tried taking a wire and putting in the drain hole and it went in a maybe a 1/4 inch and stopped to see if something was stuck in there. I just wanted to change it b/c it got pretty wet this weekend. Any thoughts or ideas would be great.

 

will motor still start sometimes the piston scurt breaks poaks thue the bace into counter ballance may still run but rap or at least smoak real bad due to motor oil in two stroak eng.

 

how do I fix it or find out that is the problem???

 

does it start ? then if it does, does it rap or smoke reall bad and run bad skip fart or puke

 

It starts up right away, it doesn't skip or puke, it has a little rap to it but it might be the clutch, and it only smokes when going up steep inclines.......

 

was the oil in the recoil housing that will mean bad seal on counter ballance or do you have antifreese leak

 

recoil was dry.....i don't think i have a antifreeze leak, BUT my starter does have oil over it, can't firgure out were it is coming from. Myabe the counter balance. Just dont get why I could hardly put any fuild in the counter balance. Do you know how much it takes???

 

i think it takes 3.5 oz but not 100% certain do a search on counterbalance oil might help
