Default Ignition Switch Problem on Older Trail Boss

Hey fellas, new to this forum, Need a little help, y'all seemed extremely knowledgeable.

I've got a 94 Trail Boss 400L, and the key switch crapped out on me. I disconnected the wires and can get the thing to fire up with the pull cord, but my fan doesn't come on anymore when she gets hot, and the lights and thing don't work.

So my question is this: Which wires do I hook together? I've got a Red, Red/White, Brown, and Black. I'm assuming that the Red and Red/White go together, and the Black and Brown are left disconnected?

I'm also having the problem of the positive lead going to the starter not getting any juice when I press the button. In fact, the wires that make the starter connection are sparking when the button is pressed. I assume that means the ignition switch wires are hooked up wrong.

Wiring is beyond me, please help.

Default Ignition Switch Problem on Older Trail Boss

i would consider buying a new switch if you can or even find a used one. the switch gives power to the starter button which in turns (button pushed) sends power thru the solnoide to charge the starter. im guessing w/out looking and tracing that the red wire is the power wire to the switch and black would be ground(maybe be brown??) and the red/white wire is being feed power when the key is turned on. look at the solnoide's wires(small ones) and see what color they are. should be hooked to the one of the front small termails and if its red/white then im assuming thats the power feed wire from the bush button which should only have power when the button is pushed. there again this is only guessing w/out a wire diagram or tracing.
