i have a 98 300ex, and it sounds like the lifters are loose. does anyone know the specifications for tightening them.

or get a manual. Ill bet its the timing chain getting loose, or the cam is wearing. It is easy to adjust valves but front plastic and gastank has to be removed to get at it.

i will check the timing chain, but it definitely sounds like the lifters are chattering. my local honda dealer is a pain in my ***. they won't give you any info for free. "bring the bike in we'll take a look at it"
