that does seem to be a little off in my opinion, my 05 700 carb got around 55 or so with about 200miles on it. my 08 800H.O. seems to be around the 40-45 range but it only has 35 miles on it so not really sure.
your 08 efi has a lot smaller tank than the 2000 something like 5.5 gal (or so my friend with a 2000 500 said) to 4.13 on the new sportsmans.
are you riding in heavy mud/low range all the time?

I can't really figure it out, I'm in reverse as much as forward, Now thats a question, How does the clock work on these things, Does it count up on the ticker if you are going in reverse?
My 500 sucks for milage, always has. Plugs always look good and never fouls. I almost never hammer on it. Mostly just putting around. I think it has something to do with a piston the size of a coffee can needs alot of fuel to make it go bang.
My buddy's AC goes alot farther then mine.

Warming up and riding at at slow speeds will hamper your range/mileage. My 500 gets 80 miles per tank easily (trail riding and such), but my 800 can barely hit 50 before the gauge starts flashing EMPTY. Also my 800 uses a crap load of gas plowing snow.
If your plug looks good and you know it's not running rich, then there's not much else you can do. You don't want to lean out an already proper mixture just to get better mileage. BTW, maybe adjust the pressure in your tires to the higher end of what is suggested, so you get less rolling resistance. Maybe that will help.
Good luck.

I have had a few motorcycles and when you start hitting 500cc and up the mileage really starts to tail off. My 1500 only gets between 42-47 and that is just two wheels on the ground. Off road is gonna be worse.

I can't tell on my Hawkeye as I've only put 1,000 mi. on it and still on my first tank. In fact, I have to stop every 30 miles and pour some gas out or it overflows.
Seriously tho, I get 125 mi per tank in summer, thats typical for a small engine.

I got a new 500ho efi with 100 miles on it I went out twice and at around 35miles I was still showing over 1/2 tank, filled up home and I think I put about 2 gals in so I figure It would be close to 75-85 miles per tank on mine.
