Need to service the transmission on a Banshee and am wondering if its possible to split the case without pulling the cylinder off. Any advice is welcome.

I think you can? but when you pull them apart the crank is gonna hang on the top half or the pistons will fall.. understand??

you have to take off the top end, it is a very EASY job though, the crankcase split top and bottom and all the transmission gears stay in the bottom, buy some yamabond for putting the cases back together!

Thanks for the info. As suspected the bottom half splits without requiring disassembly of the cylinder and head.

Turned out we had a seized 5th gear on the main shaft. Any ideas for where to get salvage trans parts?

Geo:
I have to pick up a gear set for a banshee for a friend..... K&K atv gave me a price a few weeks back of 100.00 or 150.00 for both shafts and all the gears. I will be there today so I will verify the price.
