Default 98 Banshee vs Raptor 700

I just picked up a stock 98 Banshee. My brother (the enemy) just picked up his new Raptor 700. I want to make my shee smoke him. Were going to be racing out on the dunes alot. What are some of the higher end aftermarket parts I can throw on my shee to smoke him? I'm just getting into riding/ racing quads and I've been researching everything I can on how to mod out my shee. Just wanted some opinions of you guys, there's some smart people on this site. Any help?

First thing is to go to BansheeHQ, the premier web site for Banshee riders. Those guys know Banshees. You can bring the motor up to stock Raptor speed easily with bolt on parts including pipe, airbox, RB carb bore/jetting, and RB head mods. Updating the suspension and chassis will take a lot more work and generally will not be worthwhile. The new Raptor is also much easier to ride than Banshee and picking up enough skills to match experienced rider on newer Raptor will be very difficult.

get toomy t5 pipes. K&N intake and it will be a good race. try to say out of the whoops because his suspestion and frame setup is alot better than yours.

Definately get the Toomey pipes. No 2 stroke sounds better than a Banshee with Toomeys. And the Toomeys perform geat! You may want to consider a foam air filter like UNI which is supposed to catch sand better than the K&N. Jet the carbs, and you need good rear tires to reduce the spinning as much as possible. The factory tires suck if that's whats on it. Then you could always shave the head, get it ported, reeds, big bore kit, stroked crank, the list is could go on forever................
