I have an artic cat300 4x4 and left it out in the cold one winter i started it but when i take the choke off it won't idle i can ride it with the choke on but it only back fires and runs ruff. Any solutions!!!

how long do you let it warm up? my old 300 took about 5-10 minutes to warm up when it was about 20 degrees. i had to full choke it till it started to slow down/cut out on idle then slowly move the choke up.

I let it warm up for a while and it still just dies when i take the choke off, does the idle adjustment have something to do with it cause one of my buddies screwed around with the idle when the weather is cold and raised the idle to let it rev higher or warm it up quicker in the cold.?????

it should just idle high. have you looked at your plug? replace it if its been a while. my uncles 250 acted exactly like yours, backfired. he could only run it on choke. i looked at the plug and it was gapped incorrectly. id change it and make sure the new one is gapped correctly. plugs are cheap fixes sometimes.

If it won't run without the choke being on and it backfires then you have a lean condition and need to make the air/fuel mix more rich.
First I would give the carb and gas lines a very good cleaning you may have some dirt clogging the gas line or clogging the carb.
