I got a star 200cc atv that will run for about 20mins real good then it stalls and i cant be started untill usually it sits over night. i ajusted the valves already and the carb seems fine. also im pretty sure the cap is venting becasue i drilled tiny holes in it. i noticed my gas line is cracked but not leakin. i dont think that should cause it tho. Sounds electrical, maybe CDI?

 

My guess is coil...

 

it sounds as the stator is heating up then you are losing spark. ride bike till it dies, then check to see if you have spark. If you don't check resistance coming out of stator. Other than that if you do have spark. Might be running very lean so the bike would have to cool down to restart. Check tose good luck

 

yea i noticed onces it dies . it looses the spark. then will come back after it sit awhile. so wat is that valves need ajusted. new coil

 

it did it again today. it dies and doesnt have spark, then sits for awhile and will start back up

 

did i ajust the valves wrong? i lined it up with the timing line.

 

You don't have a valve problem if you're losing spark. Probably one of the components others have listed above.

 

is was thinking do i have the wrong spark plug? i went to the local quad shop and took my china plug and the gave me a ngk dp8ea-9 plug. could this maybe be the problem? wrong plug?
