Default axle bearing question?

I am in need of the bearing that is circlipped to the splined shaft of the rear axle that mounts in the rear differential. I can't seem to find it on any of the parts diagrams. I am hoping it comes seperately and not just with the whole axle assembly.

Check here in the diagrams. http://www.babbittsonline.com/...rand/3/ArcticCat.aspx

Check 'rear drive gearcase assembly' It has several bearings listed, and I'm not sure which one you're looking for.

Default axle bearing question?

im confused. do you need a wheel bearing or are you saying there is a bearing on the axle on the side that goes into the differential? ive had my half shafts out 8 times and never seen a bearing near the differential end on an IRS.the shaft just slides in and out. ive only seen a wheel bearing. which if this is what you are wanting, then yes the bearing is seperate. about $30- 35 at the dealer. part #0402-275, but mine is a 2002 so maybe they changed it for the 2005s.

I shouldn't have called it a wheel bearing, the one I am looking for is mounted in the rear differential. The splined end of the half shaft slide in it and it has big steel ball bearings that show. The Cat service manual shows how to take it out but says to replace the whole axle if it is bad, so it doesn't show up as a seperate part as near as I can see.

Did you check that babbits link? It looks like some are seperate part numbers.

I already ordered a part from Babbits that I thought was the right bearing and it wasn't. It was an internal bearing, not the one the half shaft slides into.

Default axle bearing question?

Sorry for being so ignorant, but my whole half shaft, hub and wheel puller out of the differential as my atv was rolling down a side of a mountain in Colorado.
So not all the pcs are intact for me to look at. So what I need actually is the inner CV jount that mounts to the differential. Is this sold seperately?

You can rebuild that part of the axle, yes, but not sure about the rear diff internals. I've never went inside the diff, but I'm sure it can be done. I've had to rebuild and pach together way too many axles though...
