Default can a brake line be repaired?

twisted the end off the rear brake line that goes up to the front hand brake.
Cat only show the whole assembly(4 lines and a block) for around $200.
is there anyway just to repair the line that is broken?

I have never worked or been around those but does it go from you control to the block then out from there?

A line goes from the hand brake down to the control block.
3 lines go out of the control block
1 to each front tire and 1 to the rear

I twisted the rear line off where in goes into the rear caliper
everything else is good

the whole assembly is about $200

you might be able to take that brake line down to your local auto parts store and see if the can match it up with something on the shelf. If it is a hard line they are really easy to bend up yourself you just need the tools and they are not that much. Plus it is a good skill to have in your back pocket when you need it.

it is a flexible line, the problem is that it is not threaded or bolted to the control block. I am guessing it is pressed in but not sure.

Default can a brake line be repaired?

Interesting stuff. I'm looking into making my own braided set up using some #3 AN line and fittings from the local speed warehouse. I have terrible brake feel on mine and I think its because there is so much rubber line on the stock set up on my 1999. Earl's makes adapters and a "T" or an "X" to fit it together, I just need to wait until the weather warms up and I can have the plow quad unusable for a few days if need be. If you have a hydraulic hose shop near you I'm sure they can replace the piece that is in question. There is one about 30 minutes from me that does that kind of stuff.

A common thing among Arctic cats (500,650h1/v2, and 700 efi) happened to me. My front brake line broke loose about an inch up from the fitting on the caliper. So much slack came out that it rubbed up to the inside of the wheel which eventually ripped it to shreads which caused failure on the all wheel brake system (I still had my footbrake). Anyways I think its due to crappy design. I took my system to a place that makes braided steel hoses. They cut my fitting at the base and braised it to a hose of their own. Then, they cut from the damaged part down from my hose and spliced on their hose to my factory one. It works great. The new side doesnt fit as well inside the wheel and I used some steel clamps on the line to hold it onto the a-arm so that doesnt happen anymore. I guess it just depends all on what you do. Good luck

Default Brake line Problem

Because the brake line faile is such a common problem, why is it the Article Cat corp will do nothing to correct the problem of there poor design? I bought this new with 0 miles I have always taken great care of this ATV its never been abused. I have only 650 total miles on I will never buy another Article Cat of any model.
