No love for 450 mxr

If you look around these forums at 450 discussions its all about the new KTM and Can AM. I think that alot of people are gonna be snake bitten when they look around this year and the Polaris is runnin at the top with Can Am and KTM. Just my opinion.

Eh, maybe. The 450 mxr is the quad Polaris should have put out instead of the Predator way back when. It is a great quad from reviews, but there are still a few issues that may hold it back from becoming a popular mx ride. If you are talking about running at the top of GNC, those quads are all a far cry removed from the stocker you roll off the dealers lot. There it is rider skill and machine prep that matter more than the make of your ride.

The sad part of all of this, the 450MXR could be the best 450 out there, but many will still dog it because it says Polaris on the side. People just can't get over the old issue of reliabilty from the old modles and relize the new ones are just as reliable as the rest.

I have an outlaw 525irs and I love it, partly because of the irs and partly for the ktm engine...I live in Puerto Rico and we have real knarly trails and my irs is perfect for the trails here. I was wondering how do you like your 525s and how do you think it stacks up to the irs? Is it that much faster? Has anyone seen the Feb. issue of Dirtwheels? I heard they tested the 525irs vs the 525s...what was their opinion? Thanks for your input...keep on riding

Thier opinion between the two was they were more impressed with the irs. I like the s becase I am still kinda sketchy on irs on a sport quad but people are startin to sway my mind a bit. as far as speed dirt wheels said that they were the sme power but the irs seemed to hook up better, but after a while the s would recover and pull back because of weight. Both very nice quads. ATV Sport liked the S better though, so I suppose its all in everyones own opinions which is better.

Thanks for the reply....Maybe where they ride influences their opinions. P.R. is full of rocky trails, perfect for IRS. I had a modified raptor 660 before my outlaw and I like the outlaw better, the raptor was easyer to slide. But the outlaw has extra traction, lower center of gravity and I can go in deeper mud.(no low hanging skid plate). I also never realized how many times I used to bounce that poor skid plate off of rocks untill I went ridding with IRS. Now when I ride behind a straight axle quad I watch them bang around that skid plate. Last Sunday I saw a Banshee bend his skid plate so bad he had damaged his brake rotor. IRS is a little different riding but in a good way. The best thing I like about my IRS is that it is exotic and has a nice a$$ and I love nice a$$es.(that's probably why I love P.R. , it is full of exotic nice a$$es).
