I have a 2007 Sportsman 500 with 16 hours and the engine spits n sputters at 3000 rpm till 3300 in high gear or 2900 to 3100 in low gear. This problem has been on and off for the a couple days. today it did not do it. I also noticed today that the check engine light would come one then go off. I tried checking for codes but there was none.

 

is that the only rpm that it does it and it idles fine and goes full throttle fine? starts ok? hows the air filter clean. and the sensors are plugged in? doe sit do it under a load or does it do it in neutral as well? just a couple of questions to help peole figure it out.

 

It only does it at that rpm.The air is clean. The engine starts ok. It will do it in neutral and under load during those rpms.. It idles fine and runs fine after you get through that rpm range. It will run fine after the engine has been running for awhile at various rpms.
