Default Glacier II plow operation questions

I just finished the install of my 52 inch Glacier II plow on my Sportsman. I ordered the parts new, but never received any instruction on the actual plow setup and operation.

How high is everyone setting the wear bar off the ground? When plowing you drop the blade all the way to the skids correct? The weight of the blade rests on the ground (on the skids) with no weight supported by the cable??

Are there any good tips for plowing concrete? My driveway is swirl finished (rough) concrete so I want to avoid tearing it up.

Has anyone tired using the high density plastic wear bars offered by Warn of Cycle Country?

Thanks

I LIKE TO USE MY PLOW ON MY POLARIS WITH THE PLOW RESTING ON THE SKIDS AND NO TENSION ON THE CABLE. I'LL ADJUST THE BLADE BY PUTTING A 1/4 IN. BOARD UNDER THE BLADE AND AJUST THE SKIDS AS NEEDED. THIS WORKS GREAT FOR RUFF DRIVEWAYS/SIDEWALKS. DONT FORGET TO ADJUST YOUR SPRING TENSION AS NEEDED FOR SNAP BACK. HOPE THIS HELPS

The skids are the best way to save your driveway. If it's pretty level and smooth just adjust the feet untill the blade just barely misses the concrete. If you have too much snow left over, put them up some more. And I leave my cable loose and let the blade rise and fall on it's own, but my drive is pretty rough and a mixture of pavement, concrete and grass.

i have a asphalt driveway and take it down to the bare pavement.. you could probably do the same with only minor damage to your concrete but will it thrash your wear bar...

I have a gravel driveway so I use the skids/feet to keep the blade about 3/8" to 1/2" off the gravel. I can't put the blade right on the gravel for obvious reasons. Even with the skids in that position I pick up a fair amount of gravel early in the season, but after I get a few inches of packed snow base it's all good. Like the others, I also leave slack in the winch line and let the plow move up and down with the terrain.

My neighbor on the other hand, custom makes wear bars that are rounded instead of the standard straight edge. It bolts into place just like the standard straight edge wear bar and can be replaced as needed. He has an asphalt driveway and said the rounded wear bar does no noticeable damage.
