Default Raptor 660 performance mods

I have a '03 Raptor 660 that I need to pep up some. I can hang with the 450's until the top of 3rd gear then they pull away from me. I'm running a full Curtis Sparks exhaust, Pro Design intake/filter with drilled lid and Sparks jet kit, 20" Holeshot GNCC's, and stock gearing. I know the gearing is a little high, but I would like to keep my top speed. I also want to keep my stock bore. Thinking about a good piston and cam - any suggestions?

Hahahahahahaha! Nice! Well, I have no experience here with 660s. None at all. But, a nice cam and piston sounds good. And since we're pissing, here's my stream..........Webcam + JE = SWEET. That's just from what those brands have gained for other quads.

20" tires and stock gearing, you're geared too low, go with 22's or go to a 14T up front or down to 38T rear. You'll still have problems with 450's, different rpm range, a stage 2 cam can get ya closer though

I'll have to keep an eye on this, as I am looking set to buy an '03 Rappy for $2300, all stock. If you get a new cam let me know what you get and what you think of it please!

http://www.webcamshafts.com/ I was thinking about the 736/737 grind cam with .365" lift, 275 duration, and 248/245 duration @ .050". It looks like the biggest cam I can get for the money and without getting too crazy. Never thought I would say this, but it looks like Hotcams stage 3 cam for the 660 is pretty good, but I'm a Webcam guy.

http://www.jepistons.com/cat/j...ptor_660-grizzly.shtml I also plan on running a JE piston with the standard bore (100mm). I really hate to punch it out to 686cc. I have also heard the JE 686 kits are unreliable. JE offers a kit # 190253 in a 10.75:1 compression with a round skirt. They also offer a Pro Series kit # 261525 with 11:1 compression and an FSR? skirt. What's the difference in the skirt? And what the highest compression I can go and still run 93 octane pump gas?

im pretty sure you can get away with 11:1 on 93 octane. But BE SURE THE PISTON IS 11:1

i bought a stock bore JE piston for my DS last year 11.5:1 and ran pump premium and it BLEW UP MY MOTOR costing me $1600.

The reason it was ACTUALLY 13:1.

11:1 is the highest you should go on pump-gas (premium). I'm also running a hotcam and a 102mm piston. These upgrades made quite a difference on refreshing my power.
