Default Yamaha warrior no spark

Hello. I replaced the wiring harness in my 1995 warrior 350. I have a faint light signal at the coil connection (orange wire) when tested. The test light barely lights up. I would guess there isn't enough power to go through the coil. The battery is brand new so I know it is turning over fast enough. Has anyone seen this or is this normal. If it is then I know I have to replace the coil. thanks

Yes. The reason I had to replace the wire harness is because is was so corroded in places and somone had spliced everywhere. It wouldn't turn over but if it was pop started, it would run fine. Once I put the new harness in that problem was solved. I am almost wondering if Something didn't get shorted out. Like I said, there is power to the coil but not much. Almost want to think it is a stator problem? Not sure. Hopefully you can help. thanks

ok so now the motor turns over with no problems and you can push start it but if you just try to start it with the electric start it will not start? I want to make sure i am understanding you correctly...

Sorry. before I put the new wiring harness in, it would not turn over with the start button and would only start by jump start. Now that I have replaced the harness, it turns over fine but will not jump start. hope that helps and thanks

Yamaha changed the wiring on their Warrior stators, so if the stator year model doesn't match the wiring harness year model, the stator plug pin-out may not match up correctly with the wiring harness pin-out.

what does the spark plug look like?....did you take it out and look at it? almost sounds like the plug needs replacing, that or you have an electrical issue and got water into something that shouldn't have water(could've cracked something open when you took it out last and cleaning it jetted water inside one of the computers)
