Default Tire Seal Foam

So I was thinking about spraying a layer of that spray "foam" stuff... like the quick fix stuff when you get a flat... puncture stop... kind of stuff inside my tires as a precautionary measure. Just give it a bit in each tire and drive for a while so it coats the entire tire inside.

Anyone else done this? Does it help hold the bead at all? Any complications if you have to remove the tire?

Please post away. Thanks!!

Couldn't get a cut to seal with slime, so I used that. Worked better, but not a fix. Put in another can, since it seemed to slow it down better.

Now I need to figure out how to get that stuff off my rim. Just my experience, but I wouldn't recommend it.

fixer flat type stuff doesnt work in atv tires as they dont turn fast enough or isnt thick enough to do the job. the "slime" product works pretty good. i've used it in the past w/ good results.

Ok. I was going to put it in there as a precautionary measure...just cause. But I won't do that. Too much of a mess it sounds like. I will get a bottle of the "slime" though and keep it in the tool box.

Thanks

How about some plugs and a foot pump. I keep a container of plugs, the insertion tool and a small foot pump in my storage. I've fixed several tires on the trail. The only one I couldn't was about a 2" slice.

I put 2 32 oz bottles of slime in my rear PXT tire and all it had was a small pin hole and it still leaked, so I just bought Bighorns but I have heard of people putting the stuff in as a precaution.

My experience so far... Went to the slime website - www.slime.com - and applied the proper amount of slime per tire size as a precaution in my Hawkeye. I pulled up to my shed one day and looked down to see a 3" nail in my back tire. Pulled it out and still haven't needed to add air. Its been about 6 mos.

After having a couple of low tires, I slimed all four; no problems since then.

Ok, yeah. It seemed to make sense to put it in as a precautionary measure. I am going to do it this weekend.

Are there any temperature limitations to the stuff. I live in wonderful Saskatchewan Canada and it's like -20 C here right now. Should I wait until it warms up?

That Slime product is overrated and expensive. I use Berryman's tire seal from Tractor Supply. The gallon jug costs about $20. Don't have much problems with thorn punctures at all. Anything bigger and I just insert a sheet metal screw into the hole until I can plug it. The screws work great. I have a one inch gash on a front tire that I put about 6 plugs in and the Berryman's did the rest, that was a year ago and I'm still riding on it.
