i bought a 2007 wolvy in december and i love it! this atv is great for going through mud, the only time it has left me stranded was when i was sinking in quick sand and the only thing that would be able to get through that would be probly a grizzly. but im not saying that this thing is a mud maching but you will be suprised what this thing will get you through. but anyway the wolvy is also great for climing hills, one of the best out there. the only thing i do not like about the wolvy is that i wish it had more power expecially on acceleration. if you want to get a exhaust either get a GYTR, hmf, or FMF. also another great thing about the wolvy is the on dommand 4x4. especially on the trails, the wolvy is able to keep up with the big boys on trails and once in a while will even be pulling out a bigger atv. all around this atv is great but the wolverine isnt a work horse or anything but you will be amazed of what it can do for its size.

I give the Wolvy pretty good marks. My scrambler has better power and better clearance. Shocks on the Wolvy are sub-par. Rear has no adjustments (other than preload) and the rear end spanks you in the whoops. Front supsension dives pretty bad on fast turns (but then so do UTEs). But the bike is lite and nimble so makes up for most of the short comings.
Must have - New Shocks (coming soon). Clutch kit, & Pipe.

It's a great bike... The more I ride it the more I like it... The bike will climb hills like you wouldn't believe... I ride in med. to light mud and it handles it just fine... Add a winch and who cares...
I would like a little more on the lower end but with a new pipe, air filter, and a clutch kit will take care of that...
Look at my pictures and see the a hill I climb...
You will love the bike...

I absolutely love mine. Sometimes when racing or going across an open field, I would love to have the power of a renegade 800...but 99% of the time, it is more than enough. The only time I really did any heavy mud riding, the wolverine didn't come out too well...BUT, I was trying to go through holes that a lot of jeeps were getting burried in, so any quad would have been stuck. At the dunes, it is awesome, on the trails, it is hard to keep up with, and in light mud...it is as good as most utility quads. But dont buy it if you are a hardcore mud rider, the open front diff, tires and clearance won't be great for that.

I got one a month ago and it's great! I read hundreds of posts about the older Wolvy vs the newer one with CVT. They claimed the lack of a shifter made it slower and worthless so I almost didn't get it.
BUT, I did get it and now I really like the idea of NOT having to shift. I just give it gas and enjoy the ride.
If the posts are right about the old Wolvy being faster, I really don't care because I don't plan to race it. I just want to have FUN on it and not having to shift is definitely a plus!
By the way, I used to own a 86 Quad sport, 92 Blaster, 2002 400EX, and this one beats them all for FUN FACTOR. Plus I can ride this one in a foot of snow with no problem!

I bought a 2006 from a buddy of mine in December. It was my first ATV purchase and I was going back and forth between the wolvy and a raptor. I think i made a good choice as of now. It's really fun to ride, great power, and I liked the idea of being able to go from 2X4 and 4X4 with a push of a button. I do a good bit of trail riding and keep up pretty good with the sport quads. In the straights I get get a little behind but never "left" in the dust.
I wish it had more bottom end in the stock mode. I just ordered a Hauck Clutch and will post my results once I get it put on.

Oh yeah. Speed. If riding open areas, you'll find you top out at 50mph. Plenty fast for most riding, but not fast enough if running the open flats at the dunes/desert when riding with most Sport quads. Keeps up with UTEs fine.
