i have a 2006 sportsman 500 ho carb model 4X4
i am so confused reading and searching about which fluid to use
LT demand drive or demand drive

which one do i use ????????????????

 

Front differentials without ADC (Active Decent Control) use the Premium Demand Drive Fluid, while models with ADC use the LT fluid. I think your H.O. model is a standard, non-Deluxe model, therefore it doesn't have ADC.

My dealer called Polaris while I was standing there listening to the conversation. Here is the correct fluid for the ADC equipped front diff. The manuals had the wrong part number.
If your machine has ADC then us Demand drive LT fluid (part#2876251) and not the premium fluid. Polaris is taking the Demand Drive Premium Fluid off the market which will help.

I hope they don't take the Premium Demand Drive Fluid off the market, My 06 500 and my Wife's 08 300 both call for that oil. And from what I have read, neither is interchangeable.

 

hobbles, my manual said to use it in my 2007 500 also. Polaris said no do not put that in the ADC diff. They said they were gonna get it off the shelf because it had caused a lot of problems. But you can see the info they put in some manuals was also not right. I know my dealer still carries both. But from thier own mouths at Polaris if you have ADC then use Demand drive LT fluid (part#2876251)

 

Thanks Arkyrider, A neighbor got the 07 500 X2. I think I better talk to him bout this,,,, I'm not sure what he has on his,,

 

I don't worry about the part numbers, I just go in to the dealer and read the bottle and make sure I get ADC and LT fluids
