Default should i trade my truck for a banshee

well i sold my sport quad a few months ago for a 4x4 truck and i miss rideing sport quads so much im selling my truck for anohter one lol....rideing a 4x4 is fun but it doesnt fill the need for speed for me....anyway this guy wants to trade his banshee for my truck and i was wondering what u guys thought of this...it is a 2001 with full fmf pipes and i think new rear tires .....he says its in good shape but his pictures of it indicate that hes rolled it because its got bad wear marks on the plastic....also what kind of performance would i expect from this wheeler i had a pritty done over 400ex and i raced gncc and would like to race the shee in it but i heard it is nearly impossible to trails ride these things, is this true? also what kinds of things go wrong with this quad? so i guess im trying to find out if this is a good deal or not

They're fun, BUT you can't trail ride them very good. Especially if your with a big group.

If you ride in the mountains a 4 stroke sport bike would be more trail-friendly. I think you would be better off selling the truck and buying another 400EX. A modded Banshee with anything more than pipes would be a handful to ride on the trails.

? what you guys talkin about?
any of you seen blackwater 100 the old races, its was all 250rs and banshees and it was nothing but slow trials, creek crossing, mud holes everything they did fine
not to mention i am 15 with a banshee (first quad without an auto tranny) and it has t-5s and filter, and i removed all the junk i dont need and have stock gearing with 22 inch tires, i do fine, just as good as the kodiak just faster! =D

Yeah - the old races. They didn't have anything else BUT a Banshee or a 250R. The Banshee WAS the upgrade back then from a 3 wheeler. But today we do have more choices and have upgraded since then. The 4 strokes have a smoother powerband that is more controllable and predictable than a Banshee's power. I mean let's face it, a Banshee's engine likes to be either all or nothing. Not exactly the perfect powerplant for climbing hills in the mountains. It would be like riding a wild bull all day. When we went to West Virginia to ride in the mountains, I saw at least several hundred ATVs that weekend. Only 1 was a Banshee and I could count the 2 strokes on 1 hand. That should tell you something. And everyone in my group was like "did you see that idiot on that Banshee? I know he's been catching hell!" And this was coming from several previous Banshee owners.

Banshees have their place and make decent trail machines for mild trails, but in my opinion they are not made for the mountains. If you wanted to, you could always trade the truck, try the Banshee, if you didn't like it, sell it and buy another 400EX or similar. The Banshee should be worth maybe $2200-2500 and you can get a nice 400EX or Raptor 660 for that.

I loved riding My quadzilla in the woods, its a different experience. if you want to make a 2 stroke more woods friendly a proper port job can make the power much more linear. my engine builder has a 310r that has a powerband more like a 4 stroke, a very very very powerful one... banshees are great bikes, will be much faster than your 400ex was...

mountains seem fine for me, and he said it didnt suit his need for speed, its not difficult to ride slow muddy extrem trails and tight mountains climbs, only concern for me is keeping it jetted right going up in all that elevation, but now worries anymore for me
