Default 2005 650 v2 fan

My 650 v2 cooling fan seems to run an awful lot today I was just out around the yard maybe riding for a couple of minutes and the fan came on and it stays on ,maybe this is normal but it was -2 celcius out so I didn`t think the fan would come on that quick it doesn`t seem to overheat its just that the fan runs alot .What are your guys like that have the V2`s is there something I can check the bike is super clean and the rad is clean as well .thanks for any info

you can add some liquid ice. is an addative that lowers cooling temps. alot of people use it

You cannot "add" Liquid Ice. You need to flush the old, rinse, and refill with straight Liquid Ice, it is premixed.

Just clarifying before someone just throws in a few cups of the old LI.

What I`m wondering is if the fan is coming on prematurly or if these bikes are made to run hot .if the bike is designed to run a little hotter then putting in a coolant that runs alot cooler can`t be good for it either can it ? I really don`t want to do anything that will cause me grief in the long run

Folks I think he's wondering if it is normal for the fan to kick in that often or that quick. I know mine doesn't.

My 07 H1 seems to cycle a lot also. The coldest I have rode it in is 70 degrees. You have to remember though. It is not like a car going down the highway at speed forcing the air into your radiator. You are are going slow and not moving much air at all so it is probably normal for this to happen. JMTCW

Do an antifreeze test to see what temp. its good for. If its ok check to make sure your thermostat is functioning properly.
