sustaining verticality

Went for a good ride today. The old Magnum held up well. I noticed that when I would climb a steep grade it would die. I never had this problem with the 425. Does anyone know if this is a common problem and how should I fix it. I like to climb and would hate to be limited to only 60 degree or less inclines.

sounds alot like the problem the old jeeps had on inclines and off cambers.it's something about the fuel flow in the carb or not enough fuel in the tank to get to the pick up on the steep incline

It's got a mukuni style fuel pump under the front cover maybe its getting bad or check all the lines going to it, Ive seen the vacume line off the motor get a hole rubbed in it and cause these problems.

it's the simple stuff that makes you feel like an idiot when you figure it out.i knew a guy that could'nt figiure out why his quad would'nt run below 30 deg come to find out he had'nt changed his fuel filter in forever and had some water that was freezing up and blocking it up. a $3 part keep him from some nice winter riding

yep it's kind of nice to have a 2stroke with gravity fed fuel. my oil filter costed $2.16 i think from polaris. my fuel mileage really stinks and it rides like an ox wagon. want to trade.......LOL
