Default any tips on doing my first top end?

I plan on doing a top end on a atc110 . It is out of the 3 wheeler for a transplant to a bike.So it will be on a bench .I may do a new piston ,rings ,valves but I need to see how bad things are first. 1982 CDI.
Any tips for a first timer?
Jim

Get new seals, head gaskets, piston, piston rings, valves, pulsegenerator, cam chain, cam, and a board kit to go along with it you want it to run at its best so get all that it will cost some money but knowing your ride will kick some *** after the rebuild is worth everything so go for it good luck.

Get a manual and take your time
I did my 82 110 just before X-Mas
Be paitent pullingthe cylinder as dirt gathers in the stud holes just work back and forth allong the stud to work dirt out and will come appart
Pay attn to the timing chain
Otherweise will take about 20 minutes to disassemble
And figure about an hour to properly assemble
Is your 110 smoking or low on compression
Good luck

You can also look on dratv.com
They have cams for ATC90
These are a preformance cam little more than stock
Will work in the 82-110
But you will need a longer 6mm bolt for the mechanical advance bolting to cam
They also have all parts to rebuild your 110 cheep
I ended up doing cam
Boring 1mm
Seals
Valve job
My 82-110 runs hard enough when stab throttle wind up hit second gear carrys front wheel about 20 feet in the dirt
Pavment hit second gear stands straightup

I got a book and thanks for the tip on low prices. The motor that it is replacing is an early very tired one. It will be replacing this one in my 2x2 rokon. Jim

This one does about 20 in high range. The tanks in the wheels are for fuel or water. It climbs hills so steep that the rear digs in and the front comes up. The 110 has all the hp you need and doesn't sound lake a chainsaw comming through the woods like the stock motor.
My yellow one was built in 69 and I need ear plugs .I put 5lbs over the front.
Go to the rokon website and check them out. You wont do any spin outs or weelies but no foot controls you use your feet and climb over logs or into a pickup if you want. It will float even.

have it bored out and drop in a 125cc piston I did it to my 85 110 and it makes a differance, just jet the carb with the jets for a 125m atc.
