Default Ball bearings in tripple tree 250sx

I took the front end of my 250 sx. It seams some of the ball bearings are missing. Should the completely cover the circumference of the race--anotherwords should the little ***** touch each other. If so were in the would could I get ball bearings, hardware store? I measure their diameter with micrometer.

Their shot, take them out and throw them away. Replace them with a new set of All ***** Steering Stem Tapered bearings. You have to remove the stem from the frame, then the old races and seals from the stem and frame, no big deal. http://www.goallballs.com/Bearings_Seals.asp?page=STK

I rebuild old atcs all the time, there is so little stress on the neck that the bearing are most likly good, just cover them in axel grease and stick them back in the track, the grease is think enough that they will stay put untill you drop the neck back on. also there is no seals on these bearings, just a plastic dust cover on the top neck bearing. the lower bearings are covered by the metal neck of the frame.
