I am just looking for some help, I bought an 83 atc 200 that I have started restoring, I just wire-wheeled the entire frame and repainted it, it looks like the guy I bought it from used the design of the 200 x and fabbed up the rear of the frame to have a 200x swingarm, it all looks like it would work correctly, but the location of the shock is just a bolted in peice of angle iron. the first owner said he had a shock in there for a while but it broke due to being over extended. My question is; what is the lenth of a stock shock for a 200x? I can put in limiting straps or bolt in some limiting blocks to the frame to keep it from over extending. All in all, the frame looks like it was done very well, this will be a toy for my parents at our summer home, so jumping is not a concern. I would like to get it as close to new as possable, even with the modded frame.
