Default 250R axle locking nut.

Wher can I find a wrench for the axle locking nuts on a 1985 ATC250R? Did Honda ever make one, or does everyone use huge crecent wrenches? What are you guys using?

I use a pipe wrench also, it is fast and cheaper than buying a tool for one nut.

Thanks for the replies! I've been using a pipewrench as well, but even with a cloth for protection I still get nicks in the axle nut. I'm thinking about fabing my own tool out of some 1/4 steel plate it would'nt be that difficult. I'm suprised that Honda did not have spanner wrenches included in the tool kits on these three wheelers.

I'm a plumber, so I have a bunch of huge crescent wrenches and pliers. It's always worked for me.

I know yours is an 85 but I have an 83 and it is a 41mm nut. They make wrenches for them they are on www.denniskirk.com. I am not sure if yours in the same size or not!?? When I bought my atc on ebay I got it home and it was in terrible shape so I stripped it down to the frame. I used a chisel(even a sharp/pointy punch will work) and hammer and about 15 hits later I had both nuts off!! If you wanna reuse them then this might not be such a great idea.

I got a set of G-Force wrenches from Rockymountainatv.com. I think the 250r has a 56mm inner and 45mm outer nut, same as the 350x, TRX 250r, 300ex, etc. $20
