how often are you suposed to do this? i got my 1998 400l sport 4 years ago never changed checked it anything runs great. yea i am stupid i thought it was like a motorcross 2stroke and no crank oil and it got lubed from teh oild in the fuel. how much does it hold? how hard is it to drain and change? i did the tranny recently.

most dont know about it. the dipstick is hidden real good behind the exhaust pipe. the drain is in the bottom of the engine. remove the engine skid plate and its in the center. 10mm socket. i changed all the fluids when i bought this bike 5 years ago and figured id check it and it was empty. but back to my question, where did the oil go if i dont see any leaks, did a seal go bad and the oil get burned in the combustion cycle...
