i got a carb rebuild kit, petcock, spark plug, uni filter, and a cobra steel exhaust.

now i get it to start fine but can only run it for a day and then the next day it will not start and i pull the plug and its wet and black. also it will idle fine with a fresh plug but after a few hours it will not idle without reving. also i have to slowly aply the gas i can't slam the gas it will gag out and cut off also get back smoke.

i have cleaned the carb out, pull the mix screw out 2 turns and tightened till it cut off and back out 1 turn like maual said. i also tryed uping the stock main jet "#90" and the pilot jet "#38" to main #100 and pilot #45. and that helped out a little.

can someone please point me in what mite be wrong? bad carb rebuild kit?

all this happened after putting the cobra steel exhaust "proformance" on!!!

Put the stock jets back in. Those are obviously too big, sounds like its way too rich.

the arb kit should be fine, the kit is just jets and gaskets. Try taking the carb apart, remove all rubber gaskets, plastic parts, and jets. Go buy a B-12 Chem-Tool diping tray, they are like $12 at a car parts store, then soak the parts in it for a few days, that should clear the passageways, if that does not work get some piano wire and CAREFULLY run the wire through the pathways.
