please answer this question or at least take a look at it

I might sound dumb for asking this but what is the difference betwwen
a spark arrestor and a quiet insert or are they the exact same thing

A spark arrestor does this that. It arrests the spark with a screen. It catches the hot carbon before it catches the forest on fire. You need one to ride on USFS land and others.
A quiet insert is what makes a muffler work. It makes the engine quiet and does not catch the hot carbon.
