I'm planning on installing a new cam and 416 11:1 piston on my 400EX. Does anyone have any recommendations on who to use, ie CT Racing, GT Thunder, etc? Also, will I need to get a new exhaust system?

I think your best bet would be to go with TC racing....

I personally haven't, but I know people who have and I have seen a lot of people with his engines. I have never heard anything bad about him except that you may have to wait a little longer for you engine back...

I used to watch Spader when he was racing 4 stroke TT with TC engines. Man, he would fly and he had some one-off stuff on his engines. ( two Lectron carbs, two spark plugs-one on each side of the cylinder)

That is where my engine will be going when the time comes!! Luckily I am within driving distance!

I find it to be amazing the opinions people have formed on different shops they have never used. I have used GT Thunder for my motor work and I am very happy with them. I like the fact that they base their modifications on dyno runs and know exactly what makes horsepower and what doesnt. I also like the fact that the GTT shop is only 11/2 hrs from my house.

I would suggest taking your bike to a local shop if at all possible. I think there is something to be said for being able to talk face to face with the person doing your engine work. I know that this is not always possible. So do your homework and make an educated decision. Talk to different people, and base your decision on fact and not how big someones shop is!
