Fool the Raptor CDI for more revs in reverse?
#2
Ground the green/white wire that goes to the reverse switch (below the output sprocket). This prevents the CDI from seeing that you're in reverse and so the limiter never gets turned on. The reverse light also stops working.
If you want, you can add a toggle switch that when turned on grounds the green/white wire, eliminating the limiter; but when turned off, returns to normal limiter and light operation. You would then use this switch as an 'override' of the limiter.

Thanks Quda-Maniac!
Last night I thought of calling Yamaha for the info: I may as well beat my head against the wall, I'm sure the FEDS made them do the rev limits!
I sure do appreciate the input and the time you spent to help out this newbie!
Sure hope I can return the favor some way, some day...Bill.

Make sure to wire it thru a switch. You never know when a kid or newbie is gonna take it for a spin, and youll want the low rev limiter in there for them.
Yamaha wouldnt be able to tell you about this "fix", nor can dealers.
