Default 500 Fourman Oil and Filter

I found a fram oil filter for my fourman at Wal-mart last night. Has anyone used these? They look the same to me as the factory. I was told one time that Castro was a good oil to use in fourwheelers. Do any of you use this oil? Thanks and May God Bless You,
Thomas

I will preach OEM parts also, but in a pinch....

Do a search on here as far as oil is conserned. Reconranger has infested the forum with great info on oils to use.
I also suggest doing a search on the oil you wish to use to find its flash point. The higher the flash point, the better the oil. It is less likely to break down under heat.

One more vote for using the Honda filter... Known to be of high quality.

Oil wise, the manual calls for oil with API rating SG or higher, and rated JASO MA. The MA rating is specific to motorcycles, indicating that the oil provides friction needed for wet clutches (like your Foreman).

I'd make sure what you use meets both those ratings...

See my oil comments here: http://forums.atvconnection.co...tid/8/threadid/540208

Be sure you don't ever put the oil filter in backward!!! Honda filters are marked, but others are not....
