I have tow '87 250 X honda's. one stopped firing now the other has also. At first it would fire when you first star tit and then go dead. Then if would not fire again until a day later. Anyone have any ideas?

87 250x? thats ironic, i just looked at one today that year and that model. its in decent condition, i decided to but it, picken it up monday, its needs cleaned up and mabye new plastics, i was wondering are they reliable and fast quads?

 

Yes, they have been very reliable. Although I hve not ridden them much in the last 3 or 4 years. Other than the idle jet getting clogged when I let it set too long this is the only problem I have had with either of them. The first one I have had since about 1990 and the other since about 1993.

i had one do that before i sold it i could take the cdi off the frame tap it lightly 10- 12 times on the frame and get it to run fine for a couple days at a time t least until i could afford to get a new one but i traded it for a dirtbike before i had too now its his problem
