im here in the ocala national forest in FL and police give a hard time with people on their ATVs. i have heard though that you can register your atv as a towing vehicle and can actually drive it on local roads. you get a little license plate and you have to get turning lights and stuff like that. is this true? any other info on the topic? thanks!

 

Laws can and do differ widely from state-to-state. No way what you're talking about is legal in Michigan. Don't know about Florida. Check with your Police department to make sure. Ask them if they can let you see it in print, or give you a section of law that you can look up for yourself, just so you know you've been given the correct answer.

there's a trail in Harmony that follows the road for a couple of miles.Youcan park at the store(can't remember the name) in the town center and leave from there.St. Albans has opened up a few also.

 

here in NJ there was a law in my small town the suposibly allowed atvs bigger than 499cc alowed on the small roads idk much about it tho.

Well that says somthing to small town living, wife and I ride ours to our gas station out to eat to the hardware store lol. We just drive slow and dont mess around.

 

here in NY there are some state trails that require you to have your atv insured and reg. to ride the trails... i don't ride in NY much but i do ride in pennsylvania alot... there state actually promotes atv riding and NY is a recepricol (sp) state to PA so if your registered and insured from NY they will honor it in PA.
