I got some Woods parts. Looking for experienced opinions.

I bought a DS with RWR stage II parts. The motor is bad but I have a stock motor to put in. So now I have a few parts to mess with for my 730. I am thinking of putting on the Woods CDI. I have a few concerns. It is not a simple plug in and try it. It has no plug so I have to cut off my plug and solder the wires together. If I don't like it I have to solder my plug back on. Not a big deal compared to what I've already done I guess. Is there enough difference to notice. I'm not looking for one or two HP. I just want seat of the pants. That is all that matters to me. Does it have an advanced curve or just get rid of the rev limiter? If it has an advanced curve, can I still run pump gas with an 11.5:1 730 at 1000' elevation? If it is not much gain I would rather have a rev limiter in case someone else drives my quad.
Next is the pipe. I run stock with the end cap mod. From what I've read, the stock works great. Is this true or should I sacrifice the nice looks of the factory stainless in favor of the rusty Woods with the disk type silencer?
The cams and the carb I am already going to try. I know I'm hurting with the stock stuff there. The carb better be as cool as they say if the throttle is a tough as they say.
Opinions please.

Pipe and carb will both be great seat of the pants feel. I can tell you the CDI does advance the curve, and for seat of the pants it did not do a lot, however going up the same sand hill I have rode 50 times, just the CDI was worth 400RPMs. With your 11.5-1 at 1000ft make sure you are right on with tune. 93 is the limit there. I would recommend running a mix just to be safe

Thanks for the advice. I probably won't be chopping up my wiring to try it. It's just not that big of a deal to me. I will be trying the other parts. Kind of can't wait to have the time.

Woods hasthose plug ends for those CDIs and dosent charge much for them, I had a 04 RWR CDI and needed a 01 Plug end, just let him know what year it is. The RWR CDI is a factory Part I dont know what it is off of from Rotax, but it is one sold unit and had no problems with it, I had a Vortex and had a ground problem that fried it.

As soon as you add the RWR pipe, cams, and carb you will also want to put on the CDI. While it may not feel like you need the extra revs now, as soon as you start adding all of these to your 730 it will want the extra RPM's...
Remember all your mods need to work together. If your going to put a full pipe, cams, and carb and leave the crappy stock CDI on your kind of defeating the purpose.

Erbe, I asked RWR about the plugs and they said they did not have them. WTF? You would think they could get them. This CDI was for an early model and Woods told the guy to cut the plug and soldier it together. Do they only have the old style plug I wonder?
I know all the mods need to work together. That being said I have a pretty messed up motor package. It is still very fun to ride and didn't cost anything. I'm sure the RPMs and CDI will be better but with the advanced curve and compression, I don't want to have to run a mix of race fuel.
