mojave engine help

me and a buddy are putting together a mojave he bought that needed some engine work we are putting it together now put we cant get the forks to fit right on the crank shaft i think thats what part it is we have a factory manual but it does not give any pics on what forks go on what grooves we have tried fitting it different way but we cant get to fit right is there anything on line that would help or can anyone give any help
