When alot more air is allowed in, you know its gonna be lean, so the symptoms you are exerienceing are of lean.
Heres a link to a good article on do it yourself jetting, and it lists symptoms, and corrections.

I would think you need to go up at least 1 or 2 sizes on the pilot jet. And at least 2 or 3 sizes on the main jet, and go from there. There are numbers on the sides of the jets, which are the hole size in the middle of them....bigger numbers are bigger holes. For instance, a 130 jet is 1.3mm in diameter.

If you have a chunk of duct tape....cover about 1/2 of the snorkle opening...this will make the mixtures richer. Now take it for a test drive. Does it get better or worse?
If its not convient to duct tape, then remove the air box lid....this will make it way lean, take for a test drive and see if it gets better or worse.
