Default New 08 800 EFI HO

So, I picked up my new Stealth Black wheeler yesterday! All I can say is that I am in love with it! I cannot believe how much better it is than my 01 500 HO was. I really am in love with this thing! haha

I did have one problem with it though. It is definitely gonna have to go back to the dealer. I went to use the winch. The cable came out when using the switch, but as soon as I tried to bring it back in it killed the wheeler and all of the winch wiring melted and smoked. It scared the sh*t out of me when it was doing it. Hopefully they can get that fixed pretty quick.

make them check the charging system and or give you some kind of written extra warranty sice it could have started to screw up the electronics. sounds like to me that the in feed cable is touching bare metal casuing a direct short. couldnt have messed up the winch itself as well.

Yeah, I'm going to have them check it all over. I have two other things that I want them to check as well. I think the idle is just a touch too high. Also, when you turn the output shaft from the transmission going to the rear gearbox, it makes a loud clunking sound. It is annoying when driving out in the woods or even just turning I can hear it. Not sure what the deal is with that. Hopefully they can fix all of that for me.

Some driveline lash or cluncking seems to be very common if not normal with the twins.....you might experience some clunking when shifting between gears, but you shouldn't have any constant driveline noise.

I called the dealer this morning. They are going to come and pick it up (since I dont have access to a truck) and get everythign repaired. The guy told me that the wheeler comes pre-wired for winches. He thinks that those wires rubbed till insulation was gone and then it fried when I went to use it. He also explained to me about the driveline noise. He said that in the transmission there is a chain which looks like a timing chain. He said that it comes pre stretched so that the wheeler wears into it rather than out of it. He said it sounds bad but is normal. They will check it to make sure it isn't excessive. Also, mine really sucked the fuel. My buddy bought an 08 800EFI touring at the same time as I did. I realize that it has a larger tank, but he has more miles on than me and his fuel gauge is down one notch. Mine is on E with only right around 20 miles on it. They are going to check that out too.

Other than all of these problems, I really love the machine!

Good to hear you got one as well. They are really great machines arent they?! I absolutely love the stealth black color too!

so I take it your driveline is noisy too? I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one then. How is yours on fuel?
