Default Starting a Panther 110 ATV

Hello, I am having trouble starting our new panther 110 atv's. If I hook them up to the battery charger for a while they will start ,but once I turn them off they will not start again. Does anyone nowhat could be wrong? Am I doing something wrong or could they need repairs? I was told that they are tricky because of the remotes they come with but I am very frustrated. Any ideas would be helpful. Thank You !

The method that you described to get them started would indicate to me that the batteries are toast. These quads come with cheap batteries and it is not an uncommon prob. Definitely not a remote problem.

Thank You ! I will have that checked tomorrow. My boys are very anxious to ride them. Because they were fairly new atv's I didn't think the batteries would die so quickly. hopefully that is all it is.

I have a trickle charger on one, plus two extra batteries that I keep charged. These batteries are weak. The dealer gave me an extra, plus I bought one at Walmart (the one that this forum recommended, and it works).

We do have a charger ,but I will get an extra battery to have on hand. Do you have to change them out often? Thank You!
I like your user name. Are you a coffee lover?

don't waste your money on an extra battery, buy a deltran battery tender jr. instead, price is around $30, they come with 2 types of wiring harness, one i a quick connect and is permanently installed on the atv battery and when done riding just plug in the tender, the battery tender has a automated charge sensor kepping the battery charged 100% all the time without over charging. this will make the battery last for years even the cheap chinese batteries. i have a battery tender hooked up to each and every one of my toys, very cheap insurance, i know every time i go to start one i am not going to have a dead battery

chineseatvmechanic is right, that's the thing I have but in a different brand. I can plug my battery in from the harness that stays on the atv. But, I still keep the extra batteries charged, especially if we're going someplace. it's nice to keep the extra's. Yes, I have to change them out often....because we aren't good about plugging the ATV in

Yes, I'm a coffee lover. The name comes from a spot on a creek that took a hard turn (bend). We use to rest our horses there and brew a pot of coffee. Hence, everyone called that spot "coffeepotbend". I don't have horses anymore. I sold them years ago and bought ATV's........they are much easier to take care of, and don't have personalities.....LOL...I enjoyed my years on horses, but my husband and I are enjoying the ATV years even more!!!!

Oh hey, your name is Baristamom.........you must be a coffee lover too????????

This has been a great forum. Thank you all for the information. I brought the atv's to a repair guy. He is actually our neighbor who sells boats and atv's. He said the batteries were definitely bad ,but also the carborator on one was not working properly. The choke was also set wrong. I know were they were bought the guy had put them together so maybe it was not done right. Anyway I will keep batteries on hand and have the chargers. Better to be safe than sorry. Well...... actually I am not a coffee lover. My husband is! We have our own espresso machine and everything to go with it. We actually even roast our own beans and have unofficially started a business in selling freshly roasted coffee. Our house smells pretty good most of the time. I am learning to like it and really like ice coffee now.

Thanks for all the advice!
