i went to ride my polaris sportsman 700 the other day, and it quit running after a few minutes.
the only way it would start again was to fully close the choke, remove the air filter and hold a glove over the intake. any suggestions?

 

well its a lack of fuel problem for sure. is the fuel pump working, is thier vacume going to it. is the float in the carb stuck closed shutting off the fuel, is the gas tank pressurized creating a vapor type lock? just a couple of idears. welcome to the forum.

i checked everything you mentioned and i believe it is the fuel pump. i ordered one today and i will post the results if it cured the problem or not.
