Sport 400 Vs Scrambler 400

Sport 400 Vs Scrambler 400
Hey Guys,
New to this forum and new to the ATV world. Looking to purchase my first ATV. I have decided between 99 Sport 400 and 02 Scrambler 400. What is the difference between the two. I've seen both, and they seem to pretty much look the same. The 99 is a little older looking of course, but any substantial differences? What make or model would you recommend for a first timer?
The 02 is $ 2500.
the 99 is $1500.
I think I might go with the 99.
