Geez, thats not good. If it were a car engine I'd say a cracked block or head or something but I know nothing about these engines. That totally beats my little belt problem. Good luck there.

I was hoping somthing like head gasket, well I was hoping somthing even more simple, but I gotta tell you nothing has been simple on this thing. I think this being the first year for the 700 twin, it kind of verifies my thoughts on buying anything first year. I just changed out my stator rectifier and CDI. it comes as a kit with a new flywheel. Polaris had a bad elecrical system design that they changed in 04. They don't tell you that though. That's why CDI's for this year are on backorder.

I konw what you mean about first year models. Almost like the first buyers are the manufacturers guinea pigs. Too bad it has to be that way.

I kid you not, I called all around all the Polaris dealers local (Nebraska) Iowa , Illinois, Texas looking for some dealer that would have the CDI unit for my 700,this was back around christmas, They all said that they can't return electrical parts if they don't sell. So some Polaris dealer in texas told me that I would be better off getting the updated ignition. I said what updated ignition. He said thAT THEY HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS ON THE 02'S THAT THEY MADE UP A KIT TO CHANGE IT TO THE 04;S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. oNE GUY FINALY OUT OF ALL OF THE CALLS i MADE WAS HONEST AND TOLD ME WHAT WAS UP.

Wow, that sucks. I'm no mechanic but my guess is you're gonna need a new block.
