300/400 2008 sporstman pricing
#1
I live in Ontario,Canada and was hoping someone could give me an idea of the pricing for the 300 or 400 sportsman. I know what the MSRP is but know that they sell for less. I am in Ontario, close to the northern part of NY state. Thanks folks. My wife is looking at the smaller machines.

I paid $4950 for the 400HO w/f&r brush guards and tire swap here in Iowa, USA...he even through in a new helmet for the wife! Didn't check on an "08, 300 Sportsman, but he had a couple left over 07 Hawkeyes for $4200 which I probably could have bought for $4000 if not a bit less...to tell you the truth, that little 300 is a great deal for your wife! My wife has no problem going anywhere the rest of us go with that machine!

Thanks for the info so far guys. Hey jokout, I'm assuming you ride your wifes machine sometimes. How do yo feel it compares to the 400? She's looking at the 300 more then the 400 but I'm thinking that If I'm just trail riding by myself I'd end up riding it also.
The price difference between US and CAN is making me wonder what a slightly used one in the US would cost.
Anyone here buy over the border and know what all is required including other fees?

I've got both the 300 & 400HO. n The biggest diff is the 400 accelerates faster. I actually prefer the 300 for trail riding becuase of the lightweight steering and manoueverability. Above 6,000 ft. you run into jetting and power loss problems, but I just take the lid off the airbox. The 300 will go anywhere its big bros. will go. Its a trouble free machine, but not a jumper. Can't comment on mud use as I've never done it.
USA dealers are not supposed to sell into Canada due to franchise agreements. Some will. When you bring it into Canada, you will pay GST, PST, and RIV fees. RIV is the Registrar of Imported Vehicles and the fee is approx. $250.00 and this includes inspection at your local Canadian Tire Store or some other designated inspection station. THIS IS MANDATORY!
Check with the selling dealer for the country the atv was built in. USA built - duty free. Japan built - you pay duty.'
Good luck.
