im rebuilding my 400ex and i just got my new weisco piston in, do i need to get a new sleave for this piston?? or can a machine shop bore it out for the piston?? is boring out and honeing the same thing??????????????

 

That depends on if it's stock now .. The TRX400EX should only be bored to 2nd. oversize (most Honda models go to 4th. over) ..

 

well from what i can tell it is stock.......but it is a 2000 and i just bought it a few months ago. it was burning oil and i found out that oil was geting past the piston rings..so i bought a .40 over piston kit to make it a 402

 

well if it doesnt come with a shaved sleeves, wich usually they do then you are going to need to get the sleeve bored out
