Default POLARIS Outlaw 90

my brother along with his son, a buddy & I went riding this past weekend at Richland Furnace State Park in OHIO. This was the first chance my 7 year old nephew had a chance to check out his Outlaw 90 on some trail riding & hill climbing.

Gota tell you guys, that little 90cc Polaris will climb some damn steep hills for no bigger than it is. The thing Impressed the **** outta me for sure.

Our buddy that went just purchased an '03 Polaris 500. This was his first "real" time being on a quad. He actually waited for my nephew to climb some hills before he would, and he's 46 years old.

After seeing the way that thing performed, and we rode about 24 miles that day. I KNOW for a fact what I'm buying my boy (soon to be 5 years old) for his birthday.......

Why not?......................He's been on a Honda CRF50 since his 4th birthday. Thats why they have a throttle screw.......................

there is a HUGE difference in power between a crf50 50 and a polaris outlaw 90. the outlaw 90 is a youth production race based machine meant for 9+ yr olds. the problem with the throttle limiting screws is the clutch doesnt ever get to fully engage, and tends to cause poor low end performance.

2008 Outlaw 90

The same styling as our adult-size Outlaw, but with a more manageable 4-stroke engine. Minimum age: 12 years.

that is copied directly from polaris's site. be it known, if your son gets hurt on it, and it requires a visit to a hospital...and they find out that he as been on a machine thats too big for him, the division of family services will be up your **** so fast it will make your head spin. parents have had their children taken from them and placed in foster care for things exactly like this. i'm not blowing smoke up your **** here...my wife is in the medical field and has seen it happen more than once. its called child endangerment, and theres not a judge in this country that will take your side. not my kid though. not my problem.

For crying out load guys, quit all your bit(hin and get over it. We all have a set, some are bigger than others, but this isnt the place for people to decide whos are bigger. For who ever has a wife in the field.....and whos brother is a lawyer....no one gives a damn. I am a cop and I, yes I am the one who escorts DCYS into your houses. I am also the one who decides if there is any criminal aspect to the charges. If your kids gets seriously mamed and majorly injured then yes, DCYS will be butt surfing in your crack, where if its just a bump or bruise, maybe even a minor break, and your kids on a ATV that is at least close to age appropriate, you should be all set. If your kid gets hurt on a 650, then your S.O.L. Now everone calm down and quit flexing your muscles.

I have to agree the CRF 50 is one fast little bike. My son as well has been on one since he was 5. He now rides a 110cc predator clone (chinese). The bike takes much more skill to ride. He has been on it without a throttle stop for about two years now he just turned 9. He has out grown the CRF, and now looking at a CRF70. I think if you bring your kids up around atv's and they learn to respect them there is no problem with them riding anything they can fully control. Good luck to your 5yr old and I hope you have a ton of fun!

I am a cop and my three year old rides a Yamaha Raptor 50. He has been riding it since he was 2 1/2 years old....I bought him a smaller 50cc Baja that was lower to the ground and kinda more age appropriate...he told me it was too small....He drives that Raptor better than most adults do...I have all the protective equipment: helmet, chest protector, riding gear and boots. People that have been riding all there life cannot believe how under control he rides....he rides it without any governor....my buddy bought his 10 year old daughter a 90 outlaw and he has ridden that also....his feet dont touch the ground but he is in control....Now I understand that the ratings are on the bikes solely for legal purposes...but what big sized 12 year old wants to ride a 90 cc bike?
