Today the head of the customer relations department called me at my home. The way I understand it is that they are going to pay for half of the repairs. I am the second owner of this bike so there is really no way of determining what exactly happend to it or what it has been through. The oil pumps did check out, but they still don't know what happened. The person I talked to said that they would go ahead and help with the repairs not because they had to, but because they valued my business and all of the people associated with this forum. They were very helpful and fair given the situation. All she asked for was that all of us continue to support Bombardier in the ATV market. Special thanks to all of you that have e-mailed and made you opinions known. We do have a voice and by the sound of Bomb a rather large voice. I'll keep my name on the list for their new high performance quad to be released. Thank you all.

I wasnt so lucky. The person I talked to gave me some analogy as how her van with 140,000 miles on it needs a new transmission and how she dosent expect Chrysler to pay for it. Needles to say I am very disapointed with Bombardier. I have a bill for a quad that needs $3000k in repairs and a manufacturer who could care less.

I wouldn't settle for 1/2 without a known reason for the problem. If the oil pump was fine, then the oil pressure switch or oil light must have been bad, otherwise you would have seen the light come on and saved the motor. This would be a manufacturing defect that contributed to the problem.

It is hard for me to press them for more when I really don't know what the other owner did to it. As for the the Chyrsler analogy that has to be the lamest excuse I've ever heard. Is her van a 2000 model with 140,000, I bet it's not. Most cars are under warrenty until 36,000, which would be around 200hr. for a bike I guess. Your know where close to that.

Well i would like to continue supporting Bomb but after that story by KenDS i believe,it will be very hard.Paying for half the repairs is sure better than nothing but for about $600.00 more they could drop in a new engine and make alot of people very happy, even if they are not directly involved w/this issue.I love my DS but i've been riding motocross bikes since i was 10(20 years)and i have never had any major problems w/any of them.My last bike (CR500) was 10 years old and ran like a top.For a bike to run 20 hours and take a total s#it is crazy. And for bombardier to expect people to take it and keep buying there product is crazy too.You can look at it 2 ways 1)they want to help but feel no responsibility toward the problem and are acting out of the kindness of their hearts or 2)their hiding some responsibility and helping out some to keep this from becoming more wide spread.

Eventhough Im getting the run around from Bomardier regarding my blown engine I dont plan to give up. The dealer is looking into what made my engine fail but it seems that hes puzzled also. I told the customer rep about "awsome88250r"
DS and she told me this was the first time they have had this happens to one of their engines. She also said that even if their was two with similar problems thats only two of ten thousand they have sold. What does that mean? out of every five thousand they sell one that is likely to need a complete rebuilt after eight months. Anyone following this thread and previous posts knows there are surely others not on this board having problems with their Bombs and Bombs customer service. I still think the DS is a great quad but if you own one or plan on buying one get an extended warranty and avoid yourself a big $$$$$ headache.

AWSOME, are they paying for half the TOTAL cost or just half the parts? I think the very least they could do is pay half the TOTAL cost of repairs. Lets ask the forum what they think. Better yet maybe the forum needs to have another e-mail writting campaign to Bombardier to let them know what we think of them being cheap? Lets start right now everyone write to them and heres the e-mail address again. They need to learn that the cousumer is #1 and we can make or break their companys sales.

Are you guys crazy!I thank that AWSOME88250R got a great deal, considering that nobody knows what the original owner had done to it.He may not have done something right or neglected it.Maybe thats why he sold it.And Bombadier is not the only atv company that has had engines burn up,and usually its some thing that the owner has done wrong.Don't get me wrong,I believe that a good company should stand behind their product, but considering the circumstances,I will give Bombardier credit for this one.
