my 400ex has yet again to fail me, I took it ridin and ran fine took it home put it in the shop next day I get on her to go for a spin and it smokes and has clanking noise like the valves are hitting. The timing is on and I set the valves which were not out of adjustment but it still has a lot noise and smoke. My jetting is a little lean maybe a got it to hot for my aluminum wiesco piston? Any info is appreciated

 

I dont think you would be happy w/ the 250 as a trail bike as the 250 is more of a rever than the 700 think of the 250 as a begginer to the 450 and the 350 is the begginer to the 700. I love my 700 for trail riding in CO not too much mud here but it does ok in the snow!!!!


P.S. the 250 dosent have reverse and the 700 does!
