I've noticed on previous threads that Im not the only Wolverine owner with "squishy" rear brakes. Has anyone tried aftermarket rotors/calipers/pads with any success? Its an '07 SE.

 

assmunchower I was one of those guys with the squishy rear brakes. I just took off the rear pads and checked them. They are fine. Plenty of pad left. I thought maybe that the stock pads were wore out. I sure would like to get a better feel for the rear brakes. So Im very interested in this thread.

 

It's not the brakes but the long rubber brake line. A braided stainless steel line would cure the mushy brake feel. If anyone can come up with an "off the shelf" I'd be interested.

 

i replaced pads to ebc and sloved the problem

 

yea squishy indeed i havent changed them out but have considered it. im looking for stopping power in the back brake. right now its just a drag brake more than anything. the engine breaking takes care of the low speed stuff, the front brake for cornering, but the back just plain sucks. Id like to hear more success stories before i do anything about mine.

 

miassmaro98 enlighten me. I dont know what ebc is. Is this a brake pad manufacture? I will buy them if I can find them.

Yes, EBC is a pad mfg. they are great pads for sure!! I have them on my GRizzly 450 and it made quite a difference over the stock pads!

Does this set of pads help stop the sqealing and squeaking of the pads. That will about drive you nuts when you first go riding. I think I see a set of these in my future.

The EBC pads grip seem to grip better and help with stopping power (& stops the squeeling!), but they are still squishy. Braided brake lines help (on my to-do list).
