2003 raptor 660 missing backfiring

my 660 was running fine when i turned it off. turned it off and it idles fine. give it some gas and it will start missing and backfiring. it is getting spark and air not sure about how much fuel. any ideas??

I don't know much about the 660 but on the warrior there have been alot of carbs tore apart because of the brake lock on the clutch lever side. If that thing is out the least little bit it acts as a saftey switch and will only let it run good on idle. Like I said though, I am not sure the Raptor has this but it wouldn't suprise me.

i had this problem while back on my 660 in the mountains after i ran it through a creek. i might suggest you look at the reverse connector. it is on the left side near the foot peg. pull if off and check to see i there is any dirt or water in the connetor boot. mine did and it was doing what yours was. also i heard that the parking break. there is a small switch there. good luck

start the bike and follow the parking brake line to the back brake. tug on the cable right by the brakes...there is a safety switch inside the brake that screws up your gas. this happened to my nephews 660 a couple times.
